The theme of this contest was Valentine’s Day and White Day. In Japan, Valentine’s Day is celebrated by females giving gifts of chocolate to males. There are two kinds of gifts, giri chocolate (obligation chocolate given to co-workers, family members, or friends out of social obligation) and honmei chocolate (love chocolate given to those the giver considers in a more romantic way). Handmade chocolate is consider extra special since the giver went out of their way to make it for the receiver. White Day is celebrated one month later and males who received chocolate return the favor by giving gifts. Traditionally, popular White Day gifts are cookies, jewelery, white chocolate, white lingerie and marshmallows.
The idea was to draw your favorite pairing from the comic (not necessarily those who are officially dating, but rather YOUR favorite pairing) celebrating either Valentine’s Day or White Day. Contestants were encouraged to get as romantic, sexy, sad, or comedic as they’d like as long as it did not exceed a PG-13 rating.
